Last call! On the first day of school your child brought home the start of school paperwork, emergency forms, etc. If you have not yet returned them to school, please send them in as soon as possible. The office staff is diligently working to update all students' files.
Last week, I sent home a notice about the Scholastic News subscription that was purchased for all 4th grade students. This is a wonderful resource that we enjoy using for practice with nonfiction text structures, as well as to read about current topics of student interest. The PTO has already paid for the 4th grade subscription, but they are asking for families to reimburse them (in cash) in the amount of $6.00. Thank you for trying to send that in this week if you have not already sent it.
Curriculum night for parents is NEXT Tuesday, September 26th. I look forward to meeting you and sharing information about the 4th grade. Please remember, this is NOT a time to conference about student progress. We are all still adjusting to the new routines and expectations of 4th grade. Conferences will be held at a later time. Of course, if you have specific concerns about your child, we can set up a time to meet prior to the term one conferences.
This week we will continue developing the 4th grade routines as we continue working on writing about ourselves, reading Grandfather's Journey, which is this week's Reading Street selection, and reviewing subtraction strategies.
Have a wonderful week!
