Thank you for helping to make our Welcome Back Night a success! The students were so excited to show off their school. It was really fun to see the interactions as the students and parents shared their answers from the Parent Night Quiz!
If you have any questions about my presentation, the grade 4 handout, etc, or if you were not able to attend and you have questions, please feel free to contact me.
Please be sure to check your child's planner daily and initial it once he/she has completed the assignments for the day. There will be 20 minutes of reading nightly, as well as writing a 4th grade quality paragraph in the AR (Accelerated Reader) log notebook. Students should also study their weekly spelling words regularly. They each have a login for Spellingcity.com where they can find the spelling list and play games to practice the words each week.
Your 4th grader will have spelling words to practice each Monday. These should be written into their planners to practice at home. They can use Spelling City at home.
We are currently reading Stone Fox in our reading groups, and our story in Reading Street for the upcoming week is Letters from Yosemite.
Our Willett Family BBQ will be on Thursday, October 5th. Flyers were sent home on Friday.
Please remember that this Friday, October 6th is a half day. The school doors open at 8:30 and students are dismissed at 12:30 for teacher's professional development. In addition, there is no school on Monday, October 9th for Columbus Day.
Have you signed up for the Remind App yet? It is a quick and easy way for me to text brief classroom reminders to you.
Please see my home page for instructions to sign up once you have downloaded the app from the App store.
